Description

Session Summary: The last OpenImpact session of the academic year, will feature a challenge from MATTER (a healthcare incubator) and its partner, Three Lakes Partners, to identify and prototype new approaches to the patient experience of Oxygen therapy. Specifically we’ll explore a complex lung disease that is difficult to diagnose, has few current therapies, and contributes to debilitating anxiety and confusion for caregivers. We’ll need every discipline at the session, as solutions may come from anthropology, policy, medicine, data science, and finance.

People or teams with promising ideas can attend a follow up session with SEI and MATTER staff the week after to turn their idea into a business model and apply to The IPF Catalyst Challenge with a cash prize of $1,000,000.

Presenter Summary: MATTER is a community of healthcare innovators, an incubator of ideas, and a catalyst for change. We are boots-on-the-ground entrepreneurs pushing against the status quo and established institutions dedicated to improving patients’ lives. At MATTER we are all hungry for change, and we’re working together to solve real and complex healthcare problems.
